Vito’s Trattoria, established in February 2024, has evolved after formerly being Gamberetti’s . Our restaurant has quickly become a beloved spot for families and food enthusiasts alike. At Vito’s, we pride ourselves on offering a warm, family-friendly atmosphere where guests can savor the rich flavors of Italy. Our menu features traditional recipes crafted with the freshest ingredients, ensuring every dish delivers a taste of Italy right here in Oregon.
But the only reason we’ve come so far is because of our excellent owner, Alex Loomis. Alex’s journey in the restaurant industry began at the young age of 15, when he bused tables and washed dishes at a steakhouse in Los Angeles. His dedication and hard work saw him rise through the ranks to learn bartending and eventually managing a restaurant. With years of experience and a deep love for Italian cuisine, Alex established Vito’s Trattoria to bring an authentic Italian dining experience to Albany. At 36, Alex boasts over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Starting as a high school dropout, he has climbed the ranks to become the proud owner of Vito’s Trattoria. Alex’s journey is a testament to his dedication and versatility, having performed every imaginable role in the industry. He began by bussing tables and washing dishes as a teenager, progressed to a line cook and server in his early adulthood, and advanced to bartender and manager in his early 20s. By his late 20s, Alex was a bartending instructor, and in his 30s, he excelled as a general manager and corporate manager. His experience spans nearly every type of restaurant and bar you could think of.
At 30, Alex’s path crossed with Treva Gambs, owner of Gamberetti’s. Recognizing his talent and passion, she appointed him as the General Manager of Gamberetti’s, a role he held for five years. During this time, he also briefly served as a corporate manager before being given the opportunity to purchase the restaurant.
Alex’s passion for the hospitality industry is evident in his unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction. He takes pride in being an active community member and strives to maintain a symbiotic relationship with other downtown restaurants and bars, fostering a healthy and thriving ecosystem.
Outside of work, Alex is an avid gamer. In his spare time, he enjoys playing Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. He is also a skilled StarCraft player, achieving Diamond League status as a Protoss player.
Meet Danielle Vinson, a seasoned hospitality professional with a decade of experience despite her young age. Originally from Temecula, CA, Danielle has spent the last seven years in Oregon, where she has cultivated a deep passion for the restaurant industry.
Danielle began her career at a young age and has risen swiftly through the ranks. Her journey includes three formative years at Gamberetti’s, where she excelled as a server lead. With the transition to Vito’s, Danielle stepped up as the Assistant Manager, demonstrating her exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
Known for her high level of attention to detail, Danielle oversees the ordering of wine, beer, and liquor, ensuring that the restaurant’s offerings are always top-notch. Her ability to lead the floor with a commanding presence has not only streamlined operations but also earned her a dedicated following of regular patrons.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Danielle is an avid reader, devouring nearly a book a week. Her intellectual curiosity and strategic thinking are further evidenced by her status as a grandmaster level solitaire player – a fun fact that showcases her analytical prowess.a
Danielle’s combination of experience, dedication, and vibrant personality makes her an invaluable asset to any restaurant team. Whether managing the dining room or interacting with guests, she brings passion and expertise to every aspect of her role.
Fred Lewis has dedicated 14 years to the restaurant business, thriving on the creativity of being a chef. For the past eight years, Fred has been an integral part of the Albany culinary scene and currently serves as the lead line cook for Vito’s Trattoria, ensuring each dish meets the highest standards of quality and taste. Fred’s culinary journey is marked by his commitment to excellence and his love for experimenting with new ingredients. As the lead line cook, he crafts memorable dining experiences that leave a lasting impression on guests.
Outside of his professional life, Fred enjoys quality time with his wife and daughter, exploring the local area, enjoying family meals, and embarking on new adventures. His family is his source of inspiration and joy. Fred’s dedication to his craft and his love for his family make him a cherished member of the culinary community. His passion for cooking and commitment to exceptional dining experiences continue to make a significant impact in the restaurant industry.
Hanah Keith moved to Oregon eight years ago from Texas, bringing with her a wealth of experience and passion for the culinary arts. With over 15 years in the restaurant business, Hanah has honed her skills in various prestigious kitchens.
She spent four formative years as a sous chef at Bargarten, where she developed a reputation for her exceptional culinary techniques and leadership. Following this, Hanah continued her culinary journey as a sous chef at Swine Moonshine & Whiskey Bar in Portland. Additionally, she served as one of the lead line cooks at Gamberetti’s before the transition to Vito’s Trattoria, where she now excels as the Kitchen Manager, overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality in every dish served.
Outside of her professional life, Hanah is an avid animal lover who enjoys spending quality time with her two dogs and two cats. She finds joy in exploring the beautiful Oregon scenery, often taking casual strolls through nature to unwind.
Hanah’s passion for cooking transcends her career, as she loves experimenting with new recipes and creating delicious meals at home. Her dedication to her craft and her love for the culinary world make her a cherished member of any team she joins.
